This is the Louise, a 1/26 scale model of a Thames River steamboat from the 1880s. Owners of these steam powered launches were typically the very wealthy. Today there are only a few replicas of these boats left. I felt that the details on this particular wood and metal kit were a little too chunky but I decided not to re-scale it. I did add some details and I think it turned out to be a pretty boat that gives you the impression of what a luxury launch was like. Check out the silver tea service with lunch in the cabin and rich industrialist standing proudly in the rear of the boat !
